A photograph can exist simultaneously as an object, evidence and historical record. Numerous photographs construct a world of Simulacra – a world with past, present, and future – which is parallel to the objective world. In China, a large number of World War II-themed anti-Japanese TV dramas were made and showed in the past few years. I directly make photographs of the screen and arrange them into a fictional archive T01_[01.1a-37.1c]-T04_[01.1-80.1] which comprises various videos, photographic reproductions, scrapbooks, and objects to locate, produce, preserve, and analyze a period of history created and depicted by countless images and investigate the differences between the reality narrated by screen and the historical truth.
